11 attacks claimed 18 lives in Pakistan in December 2018: PIPS monthly security report

Islamabad (PR) – Sustaining a declining trend of the past few months, the number of terrorist attacks in Pakistan further fell from previous month. Compared to 28 in October and 20 in November, as many as 11 terrorist attacks took place in Pakistan in December 2018. These attacks claimed 18 lives – compared to 64 in previous month – and injured 32 others.

Among those 18 killed in terrorist attacks in December were 11 security officials (8 FC and 3 army soldiers) and 3 civilians, as well as 3 militants. Among those injured in these attacks were 20 security personnel, and 12 civilians.

Most of these 11 reported attacks concentrated in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces. Five reported attacks from Balochistan claimed 12 lives and injured 24 others.  Most of these casualties resulted from an attack in Kech, by the BLA, which targeted security forces. Another five terrorist attacks took place in KP that claimed 4 lives and injured 6 others.

One terrorist attack happened in Rawalpindi, in Punjab.
