Chinese Scholars visited PIPS

Mr Zhao Shuqing, director Ethnic Minority Groups Development Research Institute of Research Development Center (EMGDRI) of the Development Research Center of State Council, China and Ms Wang Hong, deputy director visited Pakistan on PIPS’ invitation to strengthen ties between the two think tanks.

PIPS and EMGDRI are working jointly to understand regional and domestic conflicts in South and Central Asia, focusing on terrorism, political violence, sectarian divides and economic and strategic developments in the region.

Mr Zhao and Ms Wang and PIPS’ scholars, during their meeting, agreed to strengthen working relationship between the two think-tanks, and after hours-long brain storming, they sorted out areas for future’s joint ventures.

The Chinese scholars also discussed various issues especially Sino-Pak relations, Afghanistan situation and peace initiative in the region with PIPS scholars. Director Zhao praised the quality research work of PIPS, and said, “PIPS as an independent think tank in Pakistan has a bright future, and it will earn a good name at international level.”
